If you’ve ever been annoyed by clicking on a Facebook Live video and finding that it wasn’t live at all, the social network is on the case.
Facebook confirmed a report by Josh Constine of TechCrunch that it is taking steps to clean up live videos that aren’t really live videos, and the social network updated its Facebook Platform Policy to reflect this effort, with a revision to the Facebook Live API section, which reads:
Don’t use the API to publish only images (example: Don’t publish static, animated or looping images), or to livestream polls associated with unmoving or ambient broadcasts.
