ViacomCBS Finalizes Post-Merger Executive Ranks Ahead of Deal Closing

As Viacom and CBS look to reorganize ahead of closing their $30 billion recombination in early December, both media giants on Monday said they have finalized their post-remerger leadership ranks. (THR)

The soon-to-combine Viacom and CBS have tapped Nielsen alum Nancy Phillips to serve as evp and chief people officer. Viacom alum Marva Smalls will serve as global head of inclusion, a role she holds now for Viacom. (Variety)

Alex Berkett, svp of corporate development & strategy at Viacom, will become evp, corporate development and strategy. He will lead efforts to identify, pursue and execute strategic growth opportunities, including acquisitions, partnerships, investments and joint ventures. (Deadline)

Patrick O’Connell, evp and head of corporate development at CBS, and Gautam Ranji, evp, strategic planning and development at CBS will remain with the company into 2020 and transition out of their current roles, CBS said. (B&C)
