Now two former WTTG anchors can be seen in the mornings on another Washington D.C. station.
Longtime broadcaster Tony Perkins will be joining Annie Yu and comedian Reese Waters on the CBS affiliate for six weeks, starting Oct. 21 on Get Up DC.
“All of us at WUSA9 and ‘Get Up DC!’ are thrilled to welcome Tony to the team,” said Michael Valentine, vp and station manager. “He’s a legend in our city and we know mornings for our fans are about to be even more interesting!”
“I’m SO excited to be joining the “Get Up DC!” team at WUSA come October! I like what they’re doing and can’t wait to be a part of it. This is going to be a pretty unique, six-week adventure, and I hope folks will come along with us for what is going to be a really cool ride. I’m looking forward to getting DC UP with Reese, Howard, and the rest of the gang, and of course I’m THRILLED to reunite with my friend and former co-anchor, Annie Yu. This is going to be great!” said Perkins.
Perkins has been a radio and television broadcaster for over 30 years. He left Fox 5 earlier this year.
