Local Newspapers Had 20th Consecutive Quarter of Ad Revenue Decline

A report on advertising spending released today by Kantar Media contained plenty of good news – just not for newspapers. From the Media Decoder column of the NY Times:

[Newspapers] reported another decline in the first three quarters, Kantar reported, down 2.9 percent from the same period of 2009. Gains for national newspapers and Spanish-language papers were not enough, according to the report, to offset declines at local newspapers.

In contrast, the first three quarters of the year were good to most other mediums.
