Tony Schwartz 200 (GalleyCat)Tony Schwartz, the ghostwriter behind Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal, has been offering assistance to Hillary Clinton. During appearances on The Run-Up, a New York Times podcast, and CNN, he revealed that he has been giving advice to Clinton’s aides on Trump’s thinking and behavior to help the Democratic presidential candidate prepare for her first debate with Trump.

Earlier this year, Schwartz sat for a tell-all interview with The New Yorker and expressed great regret for having written The Art of the Deal. He explained: “I feel a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is. I genuinely believe that if Trump wins and gets the nuclear codes there is an excellent possibility it will lead to the end of civilization.”

At the beginning of his conversation with CNN, Schwartz reiterated the guilt he feels. He went on to say that he views his work with the Clinton campaign as an act of penance. In addition to all of these interviews, Schwartz has also been highly vocal on his Twitter page with criticism towards Trump. Below, we’ve collected several messages from Twitter in a Storify post. (via The Huffington Post)
