Anand Giridharadas Shares a Letter at TEDSummit 2016

By Maryann Yin

Anand Giridharadas, a writer, spoke at TEDSummit 2016 to read from “a letter to all who have lost in this era.” We’ve embedded the full presentation in the video above—what do you think?

Here’s an excerpt from Giridharadas’s talk: “At this moment in our common life, when the world is full of breaking and spite and fear, I address this letter simply to you, even though we both know there are many of you behind this ‘you,’ and many of me behind this ‘I.’ I write to you because at present, this quaking world we share scares me. I gather it scares you, too.”

Back in March 2015, Giridharadas gave a TED talk called “A Tale of Two Americas. And the Mini-Mart Where They Collided.” Other authors who have spoken on the TED stage in the past include Newbery Medalist Linda Sue Park, young adult novelist John Green, and Big Magic author Elizabeth Gilbert. Which writers would you like to hear from at future TED conferences?
