Los Angeles Loses Leslie Brenner
Food journalist Leslie Brenner, who was laid off by the LA Times last summer, has accepted a job as Restaurant Critic and Dining Editor for the Dallas Morning News. We’re always happy to hear about someone getting hired for a change, even if it is in Texas. Details are on the Dallas Morning News’s food blog, and it’s pretty much the standard press-release fare. The comments section is rather amusing though- seems the Dallas press are as bitter as their Los Angeles counterparts:

Talk about self-serving writing! “The Dallas Morning News is Texas’ LEADING newspaper…” It is certainly leading in layoffs, reductions of news coverage, lessening of helpfulness to its readers.
