‘If You Don’t Like the Way I Look, Change the Channel’

A Rockford, Ill., meteorologist has responded to a viewer who suggested the WTVO anchor should be “ashamed” for appearing on camera while nearly eight months pregnant.

“I am 31 weeks pregnant and if you don’t like the way I look, change the channel,” said Candice King, chief meteorologist at the ABC affiliate. “Trust me, it won’t hurt my feelings.”

King posted to her Facebook page about the message left by a viewer on the station’s weather center phone line:

Wow! I’ve always been taught that if you can’t say anything nice to anyone, don’t say anything at all. No matter how you old you are. But this seriously crossed the line. To the older lady that just called…telling me I should be ‘ashamed’ for the way I look and that I should get off the TV, what makes you think you can say something like that?!

Who do people think they are saying stuff like that. 20 years old or 80 years old, I really don’t care. The older you are, the better you should know. I really wish I had her number.
