GMA Brings Back Sam Champion, Josh Elliott… and David Hartman

By Mark Joyella

To celebrate the ABC morning show’s 40th anniversary, Good Morning America will bring back some of its former anchors, including the show’s very first host, David Hartman. Good Morning America went on the air Nov. 3, 1975.

The goal was to have “a quiet, thoughtful conversation” with the viewer, “to present information to people that they could use in their lives,” Hartman told TVNewser’s Alissa Krinsky in July.

More recent departures will also appear on the special show, which will air Nov. 19, including Sam Champion and Josh Elliott.
