The finale of ‘The Jinx’ certainly solidified the show’s place as a ‘Serial’ counterpart rather than a mere ‘Serial’ knockoff.

According to our analytics partners Canvs – the first completely syndicated qualitative social TV platform – 10,867 of 35,108 tweets (Nielsen Social) about ‘The Jinx’ finale were emotional reactions. 32% of the emotional reactions included the word “crazy” and 24% included “love.” The show’s top moment was when Robert Durst confessed to murder.

Below, additional analysis from Sheila Seles, Product Services and Marketing Lead at Canvs, followed by an infographic:

We know that Robert Durst’s arrest on murder charges contributed significantly to tune-in for the episode, so we wanted to see the impact it had on Twitter reactions. Volume of reactions was the most stark contrast week-over-week. The penultimate episode of ‘The Jinx’ garnered a solid 845 reactions, continuing the upward trend we saw in volume for the series. The finale, however, blew every other episode out of the water with 10,867 reactions; that’s a 1,187% increase over the previous week. We used the infographic to get more specific about how people who Tweeted explicitly about Durst’s arrest felt about the show.
